The next day was cloudy with rain
threatening. The hostess warned us that our planned
route was a busy main road and suggested the D35.
We didn't return on the dirt track, but took the paved
road which climbed steeply before a very long and steep
descent back to the main road. We were pleased we had
taken the dirt track the previous day.
The D35 was very quiet with some long but not too taxing
hills. The first part ran along a small river,
we climbed up a long hill to its source and then along
a ridge line until it dropped steeply down into Sarlat.
