We made another day
trip south to Hendaye. The road to St Jean de Luz was
busy and unpleasant although we managed to avoid some
stretches by detouring through pretty villages.
St Jean de Luz is pleasant enough
but not as pretty or charming as Biarritz. None
of the restaurants appealed to us so we bought baguettes
at a bakery near the old citadel and ate them on the
beach.
From there to Hendaye was still
a major road but the traffic was light and the rolling
road on top of the cliffs was very impressive.
