Trip to Norcia Previous Next Visso

Norcia is an attractive town but we only stopped briefly to do some shopping because it was getting late and our accommodation was about 3 km away up a steep hill.

The area is famed for its prosciutto and there were several smallgoods shops with sides of cured meets hanging from the ceiling.

We were staying in a motel style unit on a farm.

After our experience with the restaurant at the castle at Poreta we decided not to risk dinner there so had bought a selection of cheese, cold meats, fruit and a good bottle of wine in the town.

We ate it on the terrace just on a beautiful sunset, and the owner even brought us a tablecloth.

The breakfast in the morning was excellent, so I'm sure our fears about the meal were unfounded.
