Orvieto isn’t
‘touristy’. It was hard to tell the tourists
from the locals and although there were numerous gift,
art and craft shops they weren’t tacky or blatant.
We enjoyed exploring
the narrow streets with the houses all jumbled together,
in the style of the region.
We were surprised
to find that very few people speak any English, even
young people.
We struggled to order food using our very limited Italian
phrase book.
