THE
NETHERLANDS AND BELGIUM 2006: Trip
Report |
|
The next day we went for a
ride around the area and then to De Lindenhof for dinner.
Our hotel Harmonie was recommended in the Lonely Planet
for excellent service, and indeed it had. Dressing for
dinner we realized there was no iron in the room and I
took my crumpled shirt to reception to see if they had
a guest laundry. Despite being busy with serving dinner
they took my shirt and returned it nicely ironed within
five minutes, no charge.

The De
Lindenhof restaurant has two Michelin stars.
We indulged in the seven course 'tasting menu'
with
matched wines. The Michelin stars were more than well
deserved, each course was innovative in presentation
and taste, giving the food had the 'wow'
factor. The service was excellent, attentive and professional
yet genuinely friendly. It was also one of the few
non
smoking restaurants that we found, thus removing the
risk of smokers spoiling an expensive meal. De Lindenhof
deserves 3 stars. |
